In this blog you can find thousands of stories... all of them are one sentence long. I support this way of say things or tell stories... instead of repeating... or constructing longs sentences... because you know... Reading is overated.

Sowa, Michael Sowa

The above are only a few examples of the images that you can find in google (I have not been able to find his webpage) when you search for Michael Sowa. I found the art of this guy when I look for the author of the artworks in Amelie.
In the video below, you can see some of them (00:50 - 00:54)... (if you have not seen Amelie.... stop reading here and run to do it).

Otro episodio de libros que intentan salir de su ostracismo... Realmente este es de los mejores que he visto... Espectacular...

N.B. I just heard that "overated" should be spelled overrated... I should read more... or... not. I am not going to change it, though.

yodigo: "Reading is overated". For some reason, people overate reading... Lot of people defend the goodies of Literature and "reading" in cultural and non-so cultural conversations...  I never heard anyone saying that "see Sculpture, Dance, or Painting" (other three beautiful arts)  is good for you... and you or your children should do it more! I consider that one can get lots of culture without reading... even more without reading literature (reading literature is a slow and inefficient method to get it).

But... I have read... and in this topic I have started to recommend books. Today I will recommend a book in case that you like reading too much, because clearly the movie is a lot better than the book.

The case of Blade Runner (1982) is very clear... the story of the book of Philip K. Dick (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, 1968) is split into two no very well connected lines... The movie made by Ridley Scott is a Sci-Fi movie, but not only that. The amazing story, together with the design that make that it look in a timeless future (including a touch from Moebious) and the music from Vangelis, made of it a authentic masterpiece. All this make Blade Runner one of my five disordered favorite movies (now, I have other three... and waiting to find the fifth).

yodigo (yorepito): La lectura está sobrevalorada. Por alguna razón (que no logro entender totalmente) mucha gente sobrevalora la lectura . ¿Qué quiero decir? Que considero que uno puede conseguir cultura sin recurrir a la literatura. Nunca he oido a nadie diciendo que ver una escultura, o un cuadro... o danza es bueno para ti, o que tus niños debreían hacerlo, y sin embargo, si no lees... hay gente que piensa que eres un paria.

Como algo he leido, puedo seguir recomendando libros. Hoy te recomiendo este libro solo si te gusta leer mucho, porque la pélicula es muchísimo mejor. Hoy... Blade Runner (1982), basada (libremente) en el libro "¿Sueñan los androides con ovejas con ovejas eléctricas?" (1968).
Esta película está dentro de mis cinco películas favoritas (no tengo una lista mental de libros favoritos). es uan obra maestra no solo de la cinecia ficción, sino de todo el cine. Ridley Scott, enseña un fúturo que se hace atemporal gracias al toque de diseño de Moebious. La música de Vangelis envuelve toda la película dandole un toque misterioso y tenebroso pero electrónico.

N.B. Si no estás de acuerdo con algo de lo que has leido, escribe un comentario.. y lo leeré... (aunque preferiría que contestarás con un video, una foto...)

Shaun Tan, the first of the "books recommendations"

I have realized that some artist, musicians, etc... that I consider very famous, are really not know for lots of people.
I show you only one of the great pictures from Shaun Tan, and fantastic illustrator that in this webpage show his amazing work.

Yes, he make mainly Picture books, I recommend them. So, this is my first "book recommendations".

I consider that my "books recommendations" have a great value, since I have read only a few books... So, follow my "books recommendations"!!! does not matter that you think or not that "reading is overated".


-Ultimamente, que me estoy relacionando con gente más joven, me he dado cuenta que algunos artistas, o músicos que yo considero realmente famosos, son poco o nada conocidos por bastante gente.
La de arriba es solo una de las  magníficas ilustraciones de Shaun Tan, un ilustrador fantástico que muestra su trabajo en esta página.

Sí, el principalmente lo que hace son álbunes ilustrados, y sí, yo los recomiendo, Así que esta es mi primera recomendación de libros ("books recommendations") aquí.

Considero que mis "books recommendations" tienen mucho valor debido a que solamnete he leido unos cuantos de libros (las últimas estimaciones hablaban de unos 40), así que te recomiendo que sigas mis "books recommendations"!!! Pienses o no que La lectura está sobrevalorada.

This webpage give you some info about the first use of computers in movies. I strongly recommend The Andromeda strain (La amenaza de Andromeda, en España) and of course Tron - y por supuesto Tron, aunque de Tron considero igual de bueno, el "como se hizo" de la edición especial del DVD.
